Three mirder indictment handed down by Lafayette grand jury.

 



A Lafayette grand jury handed down indictments Wednesday in three murder cases, court records show.


Kamie Jacob LeBlanc, 21, of Carencro, was indicted on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Tyrell Harris and Eric Nunnery on Nov. 9.




Authorities said LeBlanc shot and killed Harris and Nunnery about 2 p.m. Nov. 9. He was arrested about 20 minutes later, after police examined surveillance video of the incident.


Deaontrae Lamar-Joseph Sampson, 30, of Lafayette, was indicted on one count of second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the death of Michelle Jade Touchet on Dec. 9.


Authorities said Touchet was walking back from a neighbor's house when she was approached by Sampson, who shot her several times. She was pronounced dead at the scene.


Brendon Journet, 16, of Lafayette, was indicted for second-degree murder in the killing of Rickey Bernard Jr., who was shot and killed in the 100 block of Ancelet Street on Dec. 30. Calnisha Calloway, 27, of Lafayette was indicted in connection with the same incident on charges of principal to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
