Jose Dominguez-Garcia in court, February 20,
CHIPPEWA COUNTY (WQOW) - The man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and leaving her body in a suitcase was back in Chippewa County court Tuesday.
Jose Dominguez-Garcia of Reedsburg is charged with first degree murder, murder of an unborn child, and hiding a corpse.
He is charged in the death of his girlfriend, 25-year-old Rosaly Rodriguez.
Tuesday in Chippewa County court, the father of Rodriguez watched the preliminary hearing over Zoom, holding a picture of his daughter. Witness testimony was heard from a Reedsburg police detective and Chippewa County sheriff investigator.
Dominguez-Garcia's defense attorney argued there was no evidence or probable cause for an intent to kill, but Judge Robert Eaton said a car the defendant drove contained DNA evidence of transporting the corpse of Rodriguez. So, he believes there is probable cause Dominguez-Garcia committed a crime in Chippewa County.
His court arraignment date is not set yet.
