Akron rapper sentenced to 14 years in prison in case that left Judge flabbergasted

He was on probation in two misdemeanor cases when he caught police’s attention in June 2020 with a video he posted.

Fletcher’s video showed him clutching guns in each hand while saying he recently considered killing someone and that he intended on “robbing everything until my unemployment comes.”

The investigation into Fletcher was the first in series of events over 14 months that included the police chases. He livestreamed one chase in which he carried 38 grams of crack cocaine.

Fletcher was initially charged in Summit County Common Pleas Court after the first police chase. While free on bond, he posted a video calling on people to shoot Akron police officers at a crime scene.

After a second high-speed chase and a federal indictment, he asked Oliver to let him attend his daughter’s funeral after she had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Oliver let him out, with instructions to return to jail that night. Fletcher went to the funeral but skipped the child’s repass and went on the run from authorities for two days. While U.S. Marshals hunted him down, he posted on social media a news story about his escape with a caption that read: “King Fletch a threat to the country.”

During the trials, he threatened to attack his attorney, Fernando Mack, saying he’d make U.S. Marshals shoot him in the courtroom.

He also admitted on the witness stand to trying to use his 17-year-old son to bribe a witness into lying. When the witness testified that Fletcher tried to pay him off with $5,000, Fletcher corrected him, saying he actually offered $10,000.
