A four-month-old baby girl was tragically suffocated to death by her father, who was high on drugs and fell on her.

Her father, 40, was found guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated child neglect and simple possession of fentanyl following a four-day trial.

On the day of the incident, emergency services were called to a Travel Inn in Road in Lebanon, Tennessee, Lebanon Police Department said.


Officers found both the father and daughter unresponsive when they arrived. The statement said: "CPR was administered immediately to the unresponsive infant, and both were transported to Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. The four-month-old infant was pronounced deceased at the hospital."



Preliminary investigations found Harley had been left in her father's care while the mother was at work. Police added: "After an intensive and thorough investigation involving multiple agencies, investigators were able to determine that Jesse Wayne Craddock fell on top of the child while under the influence of fentanyl.

"The Lebanon Police Department is pleased with the verdict that was handed down today and we appreciate all agencies that assisted us in achieving this verdict."


CCTV reportedly showed Craddock was on top of the child for approximately 13 minutes. Lebanon Police Department (LPD) Public Information Officer Richard Clark told Newsweek: "The incident occurred in front of the room on the sidewalk. Due to the location, the outside cameras were able to capture the incident."


Craddock had been scheduled to attend a sentencing hearing in November last year, although there has been no further update at the time of writing
