As per Law and Crime on Thursday, January 11, 2024, a 26-year-old mother from Pennsylvania, Alisha Parker, has been arrested on charges of killing her 3-month-old son

The incident happened on Sunday, leading to Parker being charged with one count of criminal homicide and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Allegheny County Police Department reported that officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Hemlock Alley around 1:57 a.m. following a report of an unresponsive male infant.

First responders performed CPR and rushed the infant to the hospital, but tragically, the child did not survive.

Parker's narrative took a disturbing turn when she allegedly tried to shift blame onto her 3-year-old daughter, claiming the toddler was responsible for fatally injuring her newborn sibling.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Parker urged authorities to "evaluate" her daughter, citing instances of jealousy as a possible motive.

The family dynamics had recently changed, with Parker and her two children moving in with her cousin and the cousin's 18-month-old child.

The cousin, who left for work around 5 p.m. and returned at 1 a.m., became increasingly concerned after calling Parker multiple times during her absence.

Parker reassured her cousin over the phone, mentioning that both children were fine while she was consuming alcohol.

Upon returning home, the cousin discovered a distressing scene.arker, who had been drinking, was vomiting, and a palpable sense of unease prompted the cousin to check on Parker's two kids.

The tragic discovery happened as the 3-month-old was found not breathing, lying between his older sister and a wall-mounted air-conditioning unit. During police questioning, Parker expressed suspicions about her daughter's involvement, speculating that the toddler might have moved the infant onto the bed.

She remarked that her daughter "had to go" if she had harmed the victim.Despite Parker's attempts to lay blame on her 3-year-old, police, after conducting an autopsy, concluded that the injuries were inflicted by an adult, ruling out the possibility of the toddler being responsible.

Following the autopsy report, Alisha Parker was taken into custody and is now held in the Allegheny County Jail without bond, awaiting her arraignment
