Mother, 16-year-old son charged after shooting death of Canton man

CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) - A teenager and his mother have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Canton man.

Rantelvin Dajuan Richardson, 16, is charged with murder and aggravated assault. His mother, Masheka Gibson, 34, is charged with accessory after the fact.

Sunday, Derrick Mack, 46, and his son, 25-year-old Quindarius Mack, were shot on Boyd Street just after 7:30 p.m. Derrick died as a result of his injuries and Quindarius suffered from life-threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The shooting happened after a fight broke out between the two and a neighbor.
