Florida Couple Accused of Months-Long Stealing Spree at Same Best Buy Stole Over $20,000

A Florida school teacher and her partner were charged with grand theft after they allegedly made off with nearly $22,000 worth of merchandise across multiple theft sprees at a single Best Buy store.

Surveillance videos allegedly showed Danielle Lorini, 32, and Andrew Causa, 36, taking items off the shelves, then walking out of the Miami store on five separate occasions between Sep. 2 and Jan. 28, WSVN reported.

The couple's alleged crime spree came to an end when a worker caught them removing security tags from merchandise and attempting to conceal those items Sunday.

Both were arrested and charged with five counts of grand theft.

A judge on Monday revealed that Lorini, who has no criminal record, said she is a school teacher in Broward County. It wasn't immediately clear where she teaches.

Causa, on the other hand, has been convicted of multiple crimes and has previously served time in prison, according to NBC Miami.

Both Lorini and Causa are currently in jail.

Last year, police broke up an alleged retail theft ring in southern Florida responsible for stealing about $20 million in medications, cosmetics, electronics, and kids' toys.
