Child reveals years of terrible abuse by babysitter, sparking outcry

SAN ANTONIO - A child revealed to San Antonio Police about horrible abuse of a babysitter who is now behind bars. According to the arrest affidavit, police were dispatched to a home on the Eastside for a call regarding a sexual offense..

When officers arrived, it was revealed that a child had made an outcry about being sexually assaulted by the suspect, Johnny Earl Demps, 52, since they were nine years old.

The child shared with authorities that Demps would be left with the child alone to babysit when the assaults would happen.

A forensic interview was conducted and the child admitted that on separate occasions when she was 9, 10, and 11 years old. The court documents state that Demps would laugh after assaulting the child.

Johnny Demps has been charged with Continuous Sex Abuse of a Child and has a $200,000 bond.He currently awaits his February pre-hearing in Bexar County Jail.
