Igwe James Agbogo, the traditional ruler of Nkalagu Obukpa community in the Nsukka local government area of Enugu State, has regained his freedom.

 However, he was released after spending four days in the kidnappers' den. He was released on December 25, 2023, after the bandits collected rice, chicken and some other foodstuffs and N6 million as ransom.

A source in the community, who spoke to journalists in Enugu said, "The monarch was freed after his family had sent one bag of rice, one big chicken, a carton of wine and other food ingredients with a total of N6 million to his kidnappers as ransom."

"Well, everyone rallied around to make everything available so that Igwe will regain his freedom," he disclosed.
